The average of my component ratings is higher than my overall score! Shouldn't the overall score equal the average of the others?
Your overall score is not the simple average of your component scores. Instead, it's a reflection of one reader's opinion on your project's overall industry viability.
While the component scores reflect the approximate strengths of key elements in your project, the overall score functions to indicate how likely a given reader might be to share the project with peers and superiors in their industry.
Ultimately, screenplays, pilots, manuscripts, musicals and plays are more than just the sum of their parts.
That said, if you believe your project has not received a close and thorough read, or if you notice any glaring factual inaccuracies in your evaluation, please fill out an Evaluation Question Form so our Support team can look into the issue for you.
We take every evaluation seriously and want to ensure that all projects are given a thorough and fair evaluation. Every evaluation question that comes in is personally reviewed by our team on a case-by-case basis, your patience is greatly appreciated during the process.
