Programs & Labs

The Black List frequently collaborates with industry and community partners to offer targeted opportunities for writers.

We also host highly selective labs for aspiring film and television writers, as well as filmmakers: the Writers Lab, the Projects Lab, and the Episodic Lab. Participants in each Lab spend intensive sessions workshopping material with working screenwriters, participating in peer workshops, and meeting with industry professionals.

All Black List writers are invited to apply to any open program or lab for which they are eligible. Program-specific submission requirements and selection details are included on each program's page. In addition, every program and lab requires your project to be online and have at least one pending or completed evaluation at the time of opt-in.

If your project advances in any program, lab, or diversity list process, we will be ABUNDANTLY communicative! All relevant information will be shared with you individually.
