Programs & Labs

The Black List frequently collaborates with industry and community partners to offer targeted opportunities for writers.

We also host highly selective Labs for aspiring film and television writers, as well as filmmakers: the Writers Lab, the Projects Lab, and the Episodic Lab. Participants in each Lab spend intensive sessions workshopping material with working screenwriters, participating in peer workshops, and meeting with industry professionals.

All Black List writers are invited to apply to any open program or lab for which their project is eligible. Eligibility is determined by our universal site requirements combined with the relevant program-specific submission criteria and selection details included on each program's page.

If your project advances in any program, lab, or diversity list process, we will be ABUNDANTLY communicative! All relevant information will be shared with you individually.
